  1. If the rod in the light clock is faces the direction of the movement, the thought experiment disproves the premise. They are only taking into account the needed result for when the light is moving in the direction of travel. The light must bounce back in the other direction. In order, for the clock to maintain the ticks it would have to exand as the light is traveling the the direction opposite direction of rods travel. At some point a part of the light pulse of would be traveling in opposite directions. In other words, the rod must be expanding and contracting at the same time or the speed of light must change.
